Treats, Treats, and more Treats!

We got the Treat of  Trick or Treating two nights since Slater was on Tuesday we went to Grandparents and learned the ropes after a few Treats!  Owyn and Xavier had lots of energy to start the night.  We got lots of compliments on their costumes.  It was funny when they would say ohh your a bug and Xavier would correct them and say No Caterpillar!

Then on Wednesday the real Halloween Day this year we got to Trick or Treat in our own neighborhood. I was able to get them to stand still for a moment to try and capture a picture of the Very Hungry Caterpillar who trick would be to turn into a beautiful butterfly.  Then after the first house I was able to get a picture of the backs of their costumes which have a lot more going on.
In the neighborhood each year one of the house does a really fun Pirate them and has this boot so among the many house we had to stop at this was one of our pit stops they kids were amazed by this and ship as they got to board it for a moment.Posted by Picasa
Finally our night came to and end with a small treat at home and then baths and beds. They were out soon after their heads hit the pillow tonight!  I think they had a Happy Halloween!

And I'm so glad with myself I think I was able to catch up the post and should have everything from October but will see when I upload pictures next time.

Messy...Mushy...Pumpkins

We finally were able to find a time to get our pumpkins carved before Halloween Grandma M came over to help before Daddy got home from school.  Owyn had a so much fun digging into the pumpkins the mushy Messy guts of the pumpkins didn't seem to bother her one bit.  We did have to keep and eye on her as she did try to taste it a few times.

Xavier also had a lot of fun getting the "stuff" out of the pumpkins and he helped separated the seeds so we would be able to wash them and bake them!  We found a new recipe this year and used butter, wostersoursace(not sure if that's who its spelled.) and garlic salt to make them extra tasty.
When Daddy got home we finally had the pumpkins cleaned up and were able to start carving them Xavier Picked out the bat/cat and I free handed the EKK with spider.  Then Xavier wanted a face so daddy drew a face and let Xavier try to "saw out" the pieces but Daddy ended up finished it up so the bat/cat and face were on the same pumpkin.

Rainy Day at the Pumpkin Patch

Even though it was raining we still made the best of the pumpkin patch. The kids were prepared with raincoats and their rain boots!  We visited the goats first which Owyn just squealed with glee...She is totally going to be an animal lover. Then since we were the only visitors at the patch we got our own personal hayride to the pumpkin patch were the hayride waited while we picked out our special pumpkins.  Xavier would have picked them all but we told him he could only pick 2.  Owyn was happy with her finds of the two baby pumpkins and Xavier loved that she got a white one. Here the kids are on the Hayride after picking our pumpkins.

At the end of our trip we were able to get a "Dry" picture with the sign.  This pumpkin patch was called Pumpkinville and was located in Mitchville.

Our Fall weather had its ups and downs this year one day t-shirts and the next coats but we sure did get to enjoy a few with the leaves...The kids had a blast raking the the leave and Owyn was content just sitting in the big pile! Daddy did help get the big pile but Xavier did a lot of work too...He is totally and outdoor boy!

Labor Day Weekend Camping Trip

Labor Day weekend was a lot of fun for the kids we had lots of company camping at Pine Lake.  Grandma M stay one night with us, Brian and Stephanie were able to come for a good chunk of the day and hang out with us. Uncle Nathan spent the night one night and Grandma and Grandpa Bspent the afternoon evening with us one of the Days and The Scott's camped two spots away so we had plenty of company!  Daddy was the cook of the weekend and mastered the firepit, we had a few bumps with burnt food but we got things under control.

Owyn had a "camp bath" her bottom was really sorry by the last night and she just needed a soak in the tub so we boiled several large pots of water emptied a tub of stuff and used a cup as a toy and she thought is was the best. Xavier decided that when she was done he wanted a bath too instead of a shower so he even got in the tub...It was a bit wet/messy but the kids thought it was great!  I will have to remember this for next year it was way easier then doing the shower house with the kids.

Here's a picture of the 4 kids on our last night at the campground, they had lots of fun that playground!
