Saturday Soccor

This fall we decided to do some extra activities and one on of them was Soccor on Saturday Morning Owyn wasn't old enough to "join" the class but she sure has fun tagging along.  Its for ages 3-5 and the first day the kids did pretty good for about 45mins and then it was all down hill from there. 
The class is an hour which for this age group is a bit long as attention span are short. However it is a class were the parents are suppose to participate and help out so helping them focus and a few bribes helps get through the hour. Xavier is learning to stop the ball, pass the ball, move the ball with big kicks and follow, dribble the ball, throwing in the ball and trying to soccor with the ball.  He is really good at following and keep track of his ball when all 10 balls go flying.



Here a picture of Owyn dong the running drills minus kicking the ball dad was kicking the ball and Owyn was chasing it.  We only have two more Saturdays before soccor is over.

Our First Family Camping Trip

The kids were so excited about our new Camper we decided to purchase, we picked it up on Monday and were camping Friday night we didn't go very far as we camped at the Ledges State Park near Boone.  Owyn enjoyed eating at her Thrown, although waiting for her food was a struggle.
  
Uncle Bryce and Carrie got to spend our first night with us we grilled for dinner and then tried these banana, marshmallow, chocolate dessert it didn't turn out very well but it was fun trying.
Xavier and Owyn seem to be able to play anywhere and find a way to make a mess of some kind Owyn was trying to eat the nuts she found and Xavier was collecting them to hind in the tree.
On Saturday after The two left and Before Grandparents came were were able to head to lower ledges for stream fun.  The kids totally had a blast and Owyn she was in heaven playing in the water.  She is my go getter for sure.  She sure tries hard to keep up with Big Bother Xavier.
I could tell she was getting tired out as she found a pile of branches someone had stacked up on the sand wasn't tired to sit on them.  Xavier and Daddy were still very busy playing in the water.  However Daddy was working really hard to catch a mino in the bucket, however Xavier feet were not helping with all the splashing but Daddy finally got Xaiver to chase some towards him.And were were able to catch one.  Owyn tried to hold it too but it didn't work out to well.
We headed back for naps and when the kids woke up Grandma and Grandpa Boo had made it.  Grandpa took Xavier to the park, we grilled pork chops for dinner but he best part of the night was eating s'mores!  Xavier loves roasted Marshmallows....he's one smart kid.  Then as it got dark we got ready for bed and Grandparents headed home.

Our last day camping turned out to be a bit wet as it rained/sprinkled off and on all morning so we eat breakfast and packed up and headed out.  On the way home Xavier asked if we could go camping again. 

Iowa State Fair 2012

 We were blessed with wonderful weather for the fair this year!  It was a perfect day we started out by doing Little Hands on the farm which the kids enjoyed, and came with a tractor ride!

 Next stop was are yearly picture withe the ball, we have done one everyyear since Xavier was born however this year the kids really could have cared less to get their picture taken they wanted to go do this or that.
 Xavier spent most of his day asking to climb onto any of the tractrs that he say so he did a lot of test driving during the day.  Owyn was just happy to get to walk around and be curious as we looked at things. 
 By days end the kids were tuckered out, Owyn was crashed in the stroller and Xavier got daddy to give him a lift on his shoulders on the way back to the care.  We missed several thing this year and weren't able to see everything but we still had a good time.  Maybe next year we'll have a little more time to do the fair twice.

Gym Fun

Well today was a fun Day, one of our old Daycare friends invited us to come to there birthday celebration which was at the Iowa State University Gymnastics training room!  It is a pretty neat place and best of all they pretty much set the kids wild and they can do just about anything they want to.  So first stop the balance beam..Daddy gave Owyn a hand or two but she was much more interested in the beanie animals on the floor.  Xavier didn't want any help when he was doing and He did great and of course jumped off when he got to the end.


The other fun and crazy thing was the foam cubes that you could jump into....the kids floated on them and the adults not so much it was kinda like quick sand in a way.  But here's were Owyn spent a lot of time playing around with Fionn(he currently is one of our daycare kids.)

Owyn love seeing that other girl Owyn in the mirror and kept going back to here and trying to play with her she gave herself lots of kisses too!
Fionn and Xavier had fun with this balance beam as well as jumping off the jumper into the foam cubes and then they also got to swing from a rope into these cubes and Xavier got to try out the uneven bars and do a hanging trick and then fall into the cubes.  This was towards the end of our hour and half of fun and the kids were starting to slow down a bit.  Then as we were all heading out Andrew gave us the big finale with a few kart wheels on the long trampoline.  It was pretty funny watching him so his tricks.

Ohio State Fair and Family

We were able to find a time to go visit family in Ohio for the summer.  It sure was nice to see everyone and the kids really enjoyed seeing everyone Great Grandma, Cousins, Great Aunt's and Great Uncles and Aunt Audie too was able to come from New Jersey to see the kids.  We did a lot of just hanging out but our big day out was to go the the Ohio State fair and to be honest we were not impressed the Iowa State Fair makes Ohio's look like a small county fair for lack of better words.  Anyhow the kids enjoyed the animals we found Brutus and we also got to see the Buckeye guy while at the fair.  The weather was a bit hot so we only spent about half a day but really that was all that was needed to see everything.

We had a bit of fun with the tablets and played a lot of games "drawsomthing" was my fave however Xavier really liked the water game.  On our last morning The Grandma's came to send us off and we were able to snap a few shots of the kids and them and this being the best however not great it was tricky just getting the kids to sit still a min.

I know Great Grandma enjoyed see the kids she keeps talking about how we are all growing up so fast and it seems just like yesterday when the big kids were tots.  I wish we live a little closer to make the trip more often but we make the best of what we do have.  The drive home was a bit long but we managed it in one piece and we spent the day following being lounge potato's...its amazing how tired you get from riding in a car.
